HR Business Partner – Multi-Unit Restaurant Organization | Torrance, CA (Field-Based)

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to support a growing multi-unit restaurant organization across California. In this high-impact role, you will partner directly with Director of Operations, District Managers, and General Managers to strengthen leadership capability, elevate people practices, and ensure compliance in one of the most demanding labor environments in the country.

Fluency in Spanish is required.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the strategic HR partner to field leadership across multiple restaurant locations
  • Support hiring, onboarding, retention, and leadership development initiatives
  • Lead employee relations matters including investigations, corrective action, performance management, and conflict resolution
  • Conduct regular on-site visits to coach managers and reinforce strong people leadership practices
  • Ensure full compliance with California wage and hour laws, workplace safety standards, and required training
  • Partner on workforce planning and succession development
  • Roll out HR programs, policies, and tools across the field organization
  • Analyze workforce data to identify trends, risks, and actionable improvement strategies

What You Bring

  • Strong working knowledge of California employment law and multi-state compliance fundamentals
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written) – required
  • Proven ability to manage complex employee relations issues in fast-paced environments
  • Experience supporting field-based, multi-unit operations (restaurant or retail strongly preferred)
  • Ability to influence, coach, and partner effectively with leaders at all levels
  • Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing competing priorities
  • This is not an HR Manager just a desk role. This is a hands-on, field-facing HR Business Partner position built for someone who thrives inside restaurant operations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner
  • Multi-unit operational support experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or equivalent) preferred
