Assistant Manager – Gourmet Grocery Store / Specialty Market

We’re seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager to support daily operations in a gourmet grocery store or specialty market. This role partners closely with the General Manager to lead the team, maintain high standards, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support team leadership, training, scheduling, and performance management
- Provide elevated, guest-focused service on the sales floor
- Assist with daily store operations, inventory, merchandising, and food safety standards
- Support sales goals, promotions, and in-store displays
- Oversee opening/closing procedures and cash handling
- Step into leadership coverage when the Store Manager is absent
Qualifications:
- 1+ year retail or grocery management/supervisory experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
- Passion for food and specialty products
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; stand, walk, bend, and stock as needed
- POS and basic computer proficiency
- Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)
