Assistant Manager – Gourmet Grocery Store / Specialty Market

We’re seeking a hands-on Assistant Manager to support daily operations in a gourmet grocery store or specialty market. This role partners closely with the General Manager to lead the team, maintain high standards, and deliver an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support team leadership, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Provide elevated, guest-focused service on the sales floor
• Assist with daily store operations, inventory, merchandising, and food safety standards
• Support sales goals, promotions, and in-store displays
• Oversee opening/closing procedures and cash handling
• Step into leadership coverage when the Store Manager is absent

Qualifications:

• 1+ year retail or grocery management/supervisory experience preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills
• Passion for food and specialty products
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs; stand, walk, bend, and stock as needed
• POS and basic computer proficiency
• Flexible availability (evenings, weekends, holidays)
