Human Resource Business Partner | QSR Company

A growing, multi-unit restaurant organization is seeking a HR Business Partner to support operations across California, with a primary base in Torrance, CA. This role partners closely with field leadership, providing hands-on HR guidance while aligning people practices with business objectives.

This position is ideal for an HR professional who thrives in a field environment, understands restaurant operations, and brings strong employee relations expertise, California compliance knowledge, and Spanish-language fluency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an HR advisor to District Managers and General Managers, supporting hiring, onboarding, development, and retention initiatives
  • Lead employee relations matters including investigations, corrective action, conflict resolution, and performance coaching
  • Partner with leadership on workforce planning, leadership development, and succession readiness
  • Support engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and inclusive workplace practices
  • Conduct regular on-site visits to coach leaders on effective people management and team development
  • Ensure compliance with wage & hour laws, safety standards, and required training requirements
  • Support the implementation of HR programs, tools, and policies across the field organization
  • Analyze people metrics and trends to identify risks, opportunities, and improvement strategies
  • Act as a change agent, helping leaders adopt consistent HR and leadership practices

Skills & Capabilities

  • Strong knowledge of local, state, and federal employment laws (California experience required)
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish (verbal and written)
  • Proven ability to manage complex employee relations issues
  • Strong communication and influencing skills across leadership levels
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an HR Generalist or HR Business Partner
  • Experience supporting multi-unit or field-based operations (restaurant or retail preferred)
  • Demonstrated involvement in culture-building or organizational change initiatives
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or equivalent) preferred

Travel

  • Regular travel within California required

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary $90,000 – $100,000
