IT Systems Manager for a Grocery Store Company

Position Overview

The IT Systems Manager oversees and manages the information technology operations for the grocery store company. This includes managing hardware, software, and network infrastructure to ensure seamless business operations. The role also requires developing and implementing IT strategies, ensuring data security, and aligning technology solutions with business goals.

Key Responsibilities

IT Operations Management:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Ensure uptime and availability of point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and other retail-specific technologies.
  • Manage IT support teams to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly.

Systems Implementation & Maintenance:

  • Implement and maintain robust systems to support store operations, including ERP, CRM, and inventory systems.
  • Plan and execute upgrades to hardware and software as required.
  • Collaborate with vendors for IT procurement and services.

Network Administration:

  • Maintain reliable and secure networks across all store locations and offices.
  • Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Ensure adequate Wi-Fi and network coverage in-store for operational and customer use.

Cybersecurity and Compliance:

  • Develop and enforce IT security policies to protect sensitive customer and business data.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as PCI-DSS for secure payment processing.
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments.

Team Management & Training:

  • Lead and mentor IT staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Organize training for staff to ensure familiarity with new technologies and compliance protocols.

Technology Strategy and Planning:

  • Work with senior management to align IT strategies with business goals.
  • Propose and manage IT budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to enhance customer and employee experiences.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in IT management, preferably in the retail or grocery industry.
  • Strong knowledge of POS systems, retail software solutions, and ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing and remote work technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.
